Packing & Shipping Guidelines

 

Please make sure that you carefully package your items. This will ensure that your items will still be in good condition when they reach us.

NOTICE : We are not responsible for items that are lost or damaged in transit.

SELECTING THE RIGHT BOX

Use a Sturdy Box! We recommend using a thick cardboard box. Flimsy boxes—like cereal boxes or shoe boxes—are much less likely to protect your items than a hefty box intended for shipping.

Protect the ITEMS Inside the Box

Try to arrange and cushion your items so that they will not shift while in transit. This can cause a lot of damage to your items. If you are shipping several differently sized books, games or DVD’s, we recommend arranging them in a stack from largest to smallest. If you are shipping a very thick item, we recommend wrapping the item in bubble wrap or plastic bags to protect the binding. Heavy items can shift in transit causing damage. After you have placed your items in the box, fill any empty space with bubble wrap, paper or plastic bags.

WARNING:  Styrofoam packaging peanuts are not recommended. They can actually get wedged between the pages of a book and damage the book’s pages and binding.

Ready to Seal

Be sure that you have remembered to include your packing slip before you seal you box. We recommend using packing tape or glass strapping tape to seal your box. Boxes that are not properly sealed will come open in transit and their contents may be lost or destroyed. When in doubt, add more tape.

Please do not use scotch tape or invisible tape.

Tracking and Insurance

All UPS & FedEx packages are insured and come with tracking. Packages sent via the USPS are not insured and do not come with tracking. You can purchase these services by taking your package, with the mailing label already attached, to your local post office and requesting that tracking and/or insurance be added. Tracking costs $1.05 and insurance costs $2.10.
